Introduction
Photo Gallery Detail is a Template Builder module that presents a photo gallery on the website. It displays the gallery title, author, publication date, number of photos, image gallery, and description.
Use this module primarily on a PhotoGallery Template Page so published photo gallery content has a consistent detail layout. The module is also available for a Modular Page.
This article explains how to create the page, add and configure the Photo Gallery Detail module, publish the page, and verify the customer experience on the website.

Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- Access to Template Builder with permission to create, edit, and publish pages
- A published photo gallery in ViewLift Tools
- A gallery title and description
- An author if the gallery requires attribution
- At least one image in the gallery, arranged in the intended display order
- A valid permalink for the photo gallery

The steps use a page named Photo Gallery Detail and a gallery named Championship Behind the Scenes. Replace these examples with values that match your site.
Step 1: Prepare the photo gallery content
Before configuring the page, confirm that the photo gallery content is ready:
- Open Content Management in ViewLift Tools.
- Select Photo Gallery.
- Open the gallery you want to test.
- Confirm the Title, Permalink, and Description.
- Add an Author if attribution should appear on the website.
- Open the Photo Gallery section and confirm that the images are present and ordered correctly.
- Save and publish the gallery.
The module reads its title, author, date, description, and images from the photo gallery content. These values are not entered in the module settings.

Step 2: Create a PhotoGallery Template Page
You can start a new page in either of these ways:
- Open Template Builder.
- Start Create New Page from one of these locations:
- On the Template Builder home screen, select + New Page.
- On the home Page Overview, select View All Pages, then select New Page.
- Enter a Page Name, such as
Photo Gallery Detail. - Under Page Type, select PhotoGallery Template Page.
- Enter a Page Path (for example
/photo-gallery-detail). - If localization is enabled, choose the Target Language.
- Select Create Page.
The page type determines where this detail layout is used. It cannot be changed after the page is created.
Create New Page with PhotoGallery Template Page selected as the Page Type.
Alternative: The module is also available on a Modular Page. For the standard gallery detail experience, use a PhotoGallery Template Page.
Step 3: Add the Photo Gallery Detail module
- Open the new page in the Template Builder editor.
- Select Add Modules.
- Open the Photo Gallery group, or search for
Photo Gallery Detail. - Select Photo Gallery Detail to add it to the page.
- Select the module on the page to open its settings.
Add Modules → Photo Gallery. Select Photo Gallery Detail and open its settings.
Step 4: Configure the background
Open Layout and configure:

Choose a color that provides sufficient contrast with your site’s text and gallery controls.

Step 5: Review the description label
Open Content and review:

Use a short label that clearly introduces the gallery description. If your site supports multiple languages, review this value in every published language.
The current website presentation uses Description as the section heading. If you enter a different label, verify the published result on your target site before launch.
Step 6: Configure delivery and review supported platforms
Photo Gallery Detail is currently available for the website. It is not enabled for Android, iOS, Roku, Fire TV, Smart TV, or Apple TV.
When using the Supported Platforms filter in Template Builder, make sure Web is selected. The module might not appear when the editor is filtered to an unsupported platform.
The module inspector can also show these common settings:

Leaving Platforms empty does not add native-app support. The module itself remains web-only.

Step 7: Publish the page
- Review the page layout and module settings.
- Select Publish in the page toolbar.
- In the confirmation dialog, select Publish Page.
- Wait for the publish action to complete.
Publishing the page makes the latest Template Builder configuration available to the website. The photo gallery content must also be published.
Step 8: How it looks on the website
Open a published photo gallery URL on your website.
Customers see:
- Gallery title
- Attribution line — author, date, and total number of photos
- Image gallery — the gallery images in their configured order, with previous/next navigation, thumbnails, fullscreen, and slideshow controls
- Description heading
- Gallery description
Customers can also use keyboard navigation on supported desktop browsers and swipe between images on touch screens.
On wider screens, the gallery content is centered within the page. On screens up to 768 pixels wide, the gallery expands to the available width.
The attribution line follows this pattern:
By <author> | <month and day> | <number> Photos
If the gallery has no date, a dash appears in the date position. If no author is present, the author position is left empty.

Verification checklist
- A published photo gallery exists with a valid permalink
- The gallery has a title, description, and intended author
- Gallery images are present and in the correct order
- The page type is PhotoGallery Template Page
- Photo Gallery Detail is added to the page
