Use Video Watch-Through to track the runtime duration of videos and the frequency of plays.
RUN-TIME (MINUTES):
Using the Runtime (Minutes), you can find the Total Play duration (the cumulative duration of all video playback sessions within the specified period).
Run-Time (Minutes) * # of Plays = Total Play Duration (in minutes)
Typically used to calculate the bandwidth cost per minute, this formula calculates minute plays by multiplying the duration of the video watched (in minutes) by its number of plays.
Example
Run-Time (Minutes) | # of Plays | Minutes Plays |
0 | 108,000 | 108,000 |
1 X | 196,140 | 196,140 |
2 X | 194,691 | 389,382 |
Metrics
Number of Plays | Cumulative count of play events that occurred for a specific period.
The graph above shows the relationship between the aggregate video length and the number of times they are played. |
Percentage of Plays | Percentage of plays against the run-time percentage of the aggregate content. |
Every 30 seconds of stream duration, a beacon is sent from the Player. In this example, the graph shows a total number of 10778 plays for videos up to the 25-minute mark. 115 minutes show how often videos are played to their completion.
RUN-TIME (%)
Indicates the percentage of plays at specific points up to completion.
