Learn how to create a Tag-driven tray and Tag page.
Like Category-driven trays, you can also use Tags to aggregate all relevant content into a Tag page. For instance, populate a "Series" Tag page with all the titles tagged with "series".
Creating a New Tag
Tags are like keywords for content. In your web and app interfaces, users can filter and browse by using tags, and in the Tools CMS, you can them to search assets.
Before adding new tags:
- Conduct a thorough audit: Dedicate time to reviewing existing tags and categories in your CMS. You can create spreadsheets to list and categorize them.
- Identify duplicates: Plan your content strategy - a common issue is similar/duplicate tags. Look for identical or highly similar tags that essentially mean the same thing. For example, "adventure travel" and "adventurous travel" might be redundant. Choose one dominant tag.
- Establish clear guidelines: Set up a naming convention for tags. Make sure the tags you add align with your established taxonomy because deleting a tag (from Content > Admin > Tag) later will impact all the related videos. All videos associated with the tag or a category will need to be re-tagged.
Adding a tag
You can add multiple tags to a content. To choose from an existing tag, click inside the Tags box and left-click on the tag you wish to add; once you have used your up/down arrows highlight it in blue.
To add a new tag, click inside the tag box, and start typing the name of your new tag. We suggest you use upper and lower-case style rules for this. Once you finish typing the tag name, select the tag text that appears below highlighted in blue.
To remove a tag, click the x icon on that tag. There is no limit to how many tags you add to a content piece. You can also take tags as subjective, drilled-down detail elements to help users find videos.
The text you type is added as a tag to your video and gets added to the tag set of your platforms.
Manage Tags
To manage tags, navigate to Content > ADMIN > Tag tab for review, where you can create, delete, or modify tags. Use the Tag Type to break down tags by type. By understanding these tag types and their potential applications, you can effectively organize and tag content, making it easier for users to discover and navigate within your apps.
Tag Template Page
To display all content tagged with a specific tag, it is essential to create a Tag template page. Pull the Tag Detail module into the tag Template page, and configure the settings as you desire:
Create a Tag-driven Tray
Add an Entertainment or a Sports tray to your Home Page, and filter content by Tags. Example, populate a Travel Tag tray by filtering content by the Travel Tag.
Create a Tag Page
The Tag template serves to aggregate all relevant content into a Tag page, mirroring the functionality of a Category Template page. This could be videos or series content, depending on how you've configured the content type in the Tag Template page.
