You will find the template to have similar rules and functionality to when we leverage offers against an SVOD.

Main differences in TVOD Offer code set-up:

Whereas in SVOD we can set a free trial (as a Deferred strategy), this is not allowed in TVOD purchase/rental set-ups.

Whereas we use recurring billing periods fields for SVOD plans, the Re-Occuring Billing Period and Indefinite checkbox values do not apply for TVOD offers. You can add any numeric value to the Re-Occuring Billing Period field (best practice would be one or zero). These two fields are disregarded for TVOD.

Legend of fields on the template:

Offer Name: Internal field, please create something that works for your internal tracking purposes.
Offer Description: Internal field, please create something that works for your internal tracking purposes.
Status: Unexpired, the offer will be active and usable; Expired, the offer is sunset.
Cookie Days: Determines the number of days the offer code will stay in the shopping cart for an uncompleted check-out session.
Campaign Type: Internal field, not required
Price Set Up: Offer Strategy for TVOD should only be Reduced and not Deferred (as explained above). In the Re-Occuring Billing Periods box, put a one. You can leave the Indefinite check-box alone, as users will only get the offer once.
Internal field, please create something that works for your internal tracking purposes.
Value drop-down:
Percentage/Fixed: Percentage; determine the numeric percentage you wish to leverage against the TVOD plan. Fixed, set a dollar value you wish to reduce by for the TVOD plan.
Schedule Set Up: At the time of creation of the offer, it is considered active, unless you override the Make Available date/time to a future date and time certain. It defaults to evergreen with the Never checkbox. If you wish to set a sunset date on the offer, un-check the Never check-box and set your future date and time certain.

Procedures for linking an offer with a TVOD plan under the Plans New tab are identical to how it is done for SVOD. You can associate more than one pre-applied offer with a TVOD plan, in the same manner that this functionality works for SVOD plans.

If you wish to distribute direct link to a TVOD purchase with an acceptable offer embedded within the same URL (which will then get applied to the transaction during checkout), the URL structure is as follows: domain/[content permalink]?offer=[offercode]

It is important to note that offers included within a URL should be "Acceptable" and not "Pre-Applied."

Note
You must submit TVOD plans and corresponding offers on iOS and Android app stores if you want to sell content on app platforms.

See the TVOD plan and offer creation articles in the Create plans & offers in app stores chapter below.
