Offline playback issues

Q. Is there a time frame for offline playback to remain in the Downloads section?

Downloaded videos for offline view do not have any expiration date as long as you have an active subscription and don't sign out or go offline for more than 30 days. Using offline playback, you can download videos to your devices and watch them when you are not connected. The media is stored within the app storage on iOS and Android devices. Note that if you sign out of your app or remain offline for more than 30 days, then all of your downloads will be reset and you will need to re-download the videos you want to be able to watch offline.

On DRM-protected videos, the duration of the offline downloads depends on the token identifier and license expiration date, and that shouldn't be 30 days always. The license expiration is unique for each video. Once the expiration time is met then the token to authenticate is downloaded again to play a DRM video. If you see any unusual pattern, please raise a support ticket and we will get back to you.

To change the message for time alert for offline playback, go to Template Builder > Generic Message > Others.
The default message is "This device has been disconnected from the internet for more than 30 days. To watch downloaded content on this device, we need to re-verify your account status. Please exit this app, connect to the internet and restart the app."

Also, ViewLift checks for the subscription status; if your subscription is over, you won't be able to play the downloaded videos offline. Video downloading is currently only available on iOS and Android devices. Note that videos can only be watched on the device that has downloaded the content.

Modular pages

Q. The images on a tray are not working on some device platforms.
Try replacing the modular page the content is pulled from. If the problem persists, please let our Support know.

Q. Handling old modular pages that you no longer use.
You can redirect deprecated pages to your Homepage. To do this, add the below script in a Raw HTML module on the pages to retire.

<script>window.location.href="https://www.yoursitename.tv/"</script>

App CMS > Devices

Q. What does the following error in the Devices mean?

A. This configuration is for internal use only and is used to create builds, so if you ever see this error, please disregard as it won't affect the production apps.

Q. Do ViewLift templates support a Left navigation on the Web?

Left Tab Navigation can be created on mWeb and tablet but not on desktop resolution in the current setup. If you would like to make additional changes outside of this, it will be custom development.
