Creating Roku-friendly Ancillary Pages

Article summary

Ancillary Pages on the ViewLift platform typically include informational pages such as Terms of Service, About Us, Privacy Policy, etc.

The Roku platform requires these ancillary pages to be devoid of any raw HTML or CSS formatting. No imagery, links, embedded video, or enhanced text formatting or style may be used. For example, in the screenshot of the Privacy Policy page for Roku and Samsung TV, observe that Roku's Privacy Policy does not support the use of double quotation marks or hyperlinks.

If you wish to have a designed or richly formatted ancillary page on the web, you will need to create a version of the ancillary page that is Roku-friendly. In these cases, the format of the Roku version of the page should be as follows:

MASTHEAD MODULE

RICH TEXT MODULE
The Rich Text Module should only have plain text within.

FOOTER MODULE

Create a separate ROKU nav piece

Within the Template Builder, go to OTHER NAVIGATION (left-click to open) and then scroll down to FOOTER NAVIGATION.

Add a new navigation piece for your ancillary page. If you have an existing Terms of Service page (for example), remove Roku as a targeted platform for that page, and set Roku as the platform target of your new Roku-specific ancillary page. See the screenshot below for Privacy Policy navigation for Roku. The Footer Navigation has two Privacy Policy configurations: one to point to the Roku-specific page and one for all other platforms.
