Overview
Start a new subscription or content access plan by choosing a plan type. The type determines which configuration sections and fields are available.

When do I use this?
When you need to add a new plan — whether it's a recurring subscription, a transactional purchase option, an ad-supported tier, a TV Everywhere pass, or a free access plan.
What will happen?
A new plan form opens with sections tailored to the chosen plan type. After completing all required fields, the plan is saved and becomes available based on the configured schedule.

Prerequisites
- You must be signed in with a role that has monetization permissions.
- At least one monetization model must exist for the plan type you want to create.

Steps
Step 1: Open the plan creation dialog
Navigate to Monetization → Plans and click Create.
Step 2: Select a plan type
A dialog appears asking you to choose the plan type:

|---|---|
| SVOD | Recurring subscription plans with billing cycles |
| TVOD | One-time purchase or rental plans for individual content |
| AVOD | Ad-supported plans where users watch with advertisements |
| TVE | TV Everywhere plans requiring a pay-TV provider login |
| FREE | Open access plans with no payment or login required |

The plan type cannot be changed after creation. Make sure you select the correct type before proceeding.

Step 3: Configure the plan
Once the plan type is selected, the form opens with up to six accordion sections. Which sections appear and which fields are visible depends on the plan type:

Step 4: Save
After completing the required sections, save the plan. It will become active based on the configured schedule, or immediately if no schedule is set.
Expected Behavior
- The plan type selection dialog must be completed before the form opens.
- Sections that don't apply to the selected plan type are hidden automatically.
- Required fields are validated before saving.
- After saving, you are returned to the plans list.
