Article summary

Within Quality of Service in the left navigation, click on Content Level to generate the “Content Level” report. Choose the quality metric you want to sort by. For example, you can sort the data by the highest % of failed streams for the platform you think has trouble playing the stream. If you notice abnormal trends, please submit us a ticket on our support page. 

Definition

% of Plays failed to start - The failed-to-start streams can be caused due to the content playback issue.
Formula - (Number of times a stream failed to start / Number of Plays)*100

% of Plays Dropped - A video played at least for a second or more.
Formula - (Number of times a stream dropped / Number of Plays)*100


Click on Video Title, Series Title, Genre, Series/Video, and Fast Channel on the secondary navigation to sort content by content category. 

Monitor the quality of service for a specific platform by selecting the checkbox against that platform. Click Apply to get the report. Notice the abnormal trend for Fire Tv for failed starts and dropped plays metrics in the following screenshot. 

Click the download icon below the Metrics filter to download the CSV report.

Roku sends daily crash reports to your email. If you have access to their Channel Health dashboard, use it too. Most platforms offer similar tools. By analyzing these reports, you can identify trends in app crashes over time.
